Less than an hour drive from Cape Town, you can enjoy access to a magnificent collection of 21 beautiful gardens in the Elgin-Grabouw, Vyeboom and Bot River areas. Over two consecutive weekends starting on Saturday, 31 October, these gardens will be open between 10am and 5pm, ranging from old, established English style havens to indigenous contemporary landscapes. There will also be several art exhibitions and a birding workshop.
The expansive gardens of Lothian are distinguished by nature with impressive natural water features of the Palmiet River, a tranquil lake and numerous ponds as well as an orchard, vertical garden, perennial country garden, woodland garden, indigenous garden, rose arbour and a chamomile lawn, ideal for gentle walks. Wine tasting, tea and sushi will be available for adults with trampolines, a jungle gym and croquet for the kids. Entry is R20 (proceeds go to Siphila Sonke and GAWS charities)
